Pamukkale, Turkey

We caught a ferry from Rhodes to Turkey, then travelled to Pamukale. Here, the locals drive their tractors to the village shops, and there are fields blooming with poppies and other wild flowers. Walking up the hill, we saw Roman ruins,

waded through limestone travertine pools,

and swam amongst fallen Roman pillars of carved marble in an ancient geothermal pool.
